Educational Video On April 19, 2009, Iowa Public Television aired the broadcast premiere of Poetry of Place, an hour-long documentary about the Regionalist arts in Iowa during the Great Depression. Painters Grant Wood and Marvin Cone, and writers Jay Sigmund and Paul Engle created prolifically during the 1920s - 1940s, primarily in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area. During 2007-08, New Leaf Interactive Media's Dean Rathje produced this documentary, using a scriptwriting grant from Humanities Iowa. To learn more about the video, and to order a copy on DVD, click here. New Leaf produced an orientation video about the history of the Coralville Dam and the Devonian Fossil Gorge. The video was subsequently used for a touchscreen exhibit in the Coralville Lake Visitor Center. New Leaf created a history education CD for the History Center: "TimeQuest Toolbox." The CD helps students use primary sources for history research. This video clip, "Carriers," talks about the life of a Cedar Rapids Gazette newsboy.
